Hearing the words ice age spring forth thoughts of climate change and species long extinct. However, there is a new Iceage that is upon us and it originates from Copenhagen, Denmark. Quickly rising in power and strength, the Danish punk rockers, Iceage, have embarked on a worldwide tour to prove that punk is in fact not extinct and a thing of the past.
Comprised of Elias Bender Rønnenfelt’s cutting and seething vocals, Johan Wieth’s punk licks picked and bashed on guitar and viola, Dan Nielsen keeping order among the vigorous chaos, and Jakob Pless walking the bass lines between sonic excellence and garage sweetness, these guys do not mess around. Coming off their third album, Plowing Into The Field of Love (2014), Iceage have achieved a dynamically, masterful record. Showing tremendous and unexpected growth from their previous top tier records, New Brigade (2011) and You’re Nothing (2013), Iceage has proven they are on the path leading towards immortality.
If you can still catch them wrapping up their world tour, jump on it, because these Danish punks are not something to be passed up.
