Nashville based band, COIN, just released their debut, self titled, EP last month and it is guaranteed to make you dance, trust us! We caught them at SXSW and had a quick interview, which may or may not have taken place in an alley. Read our interview with COIN to see when the album is coming out and check below for just announced tour dates, they might be in your city in the next month or two…
Is this your first time in Austin? Have you been to SXSW before?
No! It is not, actually this is our fourth time. We did SXSW last year, it was fun!
What is your favorite song on the EP?
All of you, the same song?
Yeah I mean, it sounds like The Breakfast Club or something and I just really like it, so enjoyable. It’s just so out of character for us, so it’s really fun for us to listen to!
Have y’all toured with Passion Pit yet or is that in the process? Those shows will be a lot of fun…
Not yet! Those shows are in April and May, in the US, I think just five dates.
When can we expect a full length album?
JUNE NINTH. QUOTE ME. JUNE NINTH. I WAS WAITING FOR THAT QUESTION.
Describe your band in one word…
I can’t do that question.
How about describe COIN’s sound in one word?
I have a really cheesy one, i’m not going to say it though.
Go ahead, say it…
Okay, we wrote signs all over the studio that said, “fun” all over it, so let’s just go with fun. Not the band Fun. no period, just fun
